Just talked with the surgeon. He said he is happy with how things went. They had to do more than just the Glenn procedure but it all went well. Waiting to go see my baby....
Travis and Shalee were married May 11, 2007. We have one little miracle baby girl who was born on April 21,2010. At my 20 week ultrasound, she was diagnosed with CHD and heterotaxy. After she was born she was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center where she stayed for 10 days. After doing many tests we found out exactly what she was diagnosed with. DORV, unbalanced AVSD, TAPVR, malposed great arteries with VSD, right aortic arch, large primum ASD, large inlet to outlet VSD, right sided stomach, asplenia, and transverse liver. WOW! You would never guess she has so many problems! She really is a little miracle! She was such a strong little girl that she was able to skip her first surgery. She was also able to skip her second surgery, the Norwood, and we were able to take her home to have her gain weight and grow big to receive her first surgery, the Glen. We never would have thought we'd be bringing her home so soon but we are so happy and excited! This blog is intended to keep friends and family updated on our little girl's life. We are truely grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers for our family and our baby girl!
Taylee went in for her first surgery, The Glenn. It was the BEST and WORST day all in one. It was the best day because thr surgery went so well. It was the worst day because it was the HARDEST thing we've ever had to go through. With her CRAZY anatomy of her heart, on top of doing The Glenn, the surgeon also had to sew three of her pulmanary veins into the back of her heart. She did AWESOME and had NO problems getting back onto her diet (which isn't a "diet" if you ask me! :) ) We were able to bring her home on November 15, 2010 and we couldn't be any happier! :)

"It's a beautiful day up in heaven. Jesus is rounding up his tiniest angels to go live on earth and be born. One of the sweetest angels says to Jesus "I don't want to leave. I like it here and I will miss you." He reassures the scared little angel that everything will be okay, and that she is just going for a visit. She is still not swayed. So Jesus kneels down, and says, "How about if you leave half of your heart here with me and take the other half with you, will that be okay?" The angel smiles and says, "I guess that will work." But the little angel is still scared. She asks,"Will I be okay with only half of my heart?" Jesus replies,"Of course you will, I have other angels there that will help out, and you will be fine." Then Jesus gives the angel more details about his plan. He says, "When you are born, your mommy and daddy will be scared, so you have to be strong, and when you feel weak just remember that I have the other half of your heart. Enjoy your time with your family; play and laugh everyday. And when it's time to come back to heaven, I will make your heart whole again. Always remember that you are not broken, just torn between two loves." Author Unknown
